WHAT WAS NEW FOR THIS YEAR

  • Service Definitions: Because FY09 was the first year of the CEF program, definitions for each of the service categories were broad and general. Building on the experience of FY09 and on a strategic assessment of current needs and gaps in the Nashville community, this year’s grants are intended to focus more specifically on what citizens need the most today, and service definitions have been narrowed accordingly.
  • Grant Amount Limits: Applicants this year could not apply for more than 20% of agency total revenues.
  • Applicant Orientation: It was not necessary to pre-register for the mandatory applicant orientation on April 20 or April 21.
  • Fewer Documents to Submit: Certificates of Assurance and Annual Reports were not submitted at time of application. Proof of non-profit status did not have to be submitted at all (non-profit status was be verified on Givingmatters).
  • Required Applicant Audit Submission: Audits this year were emailed in electronic form, rather than included in paper form in the application packet.
  • Application Packet: No examples of the forms in the Application Packet were included in this year’s Handbook. The forms, including a template on which the Program Narrative had to be typed, were available on this website, under “RECIPIENT TOOLBOX” (below).
