Brandie Haywood, Director
Brandie joined DGC in December 2010. She is a Georgia native with two decades of grants management experience. She spent 16 years working for non-profit agencies focused on homelessness, poverty and AIDS. She served as the executive director for 3 of them. During the first ten years, she provided direct services to the homeless including emergency and transitional housing, supportive services, early childhood education, and family advocacy. She dedicated the following six years to fund raising, public policy development, planning, advocacy, service coordination, collaboration building, and research on homelessness. Her last major project in Georgia was the planning and coordination of the 2007 Homeless Census project for the City of Atlanta.
She joined FEMA in 2007 and moved to coastal Mississippi to join her family in working on Hurricane Katrina recovery. She assisted FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation and Environmental/Historic Preservation sections in all aspects of federal grants management from application development, to program evaluation and regulatory compliance reviews, to closeout. She is a certified grants manager, floodplain manager, and contracting officer technical representative. She now lives happily in Nashville with her husband and daughter.

Vaughn Wilson
Prior to joining the Division of Grants Coordination in April, 2005, Vaughn Wilson had 5 years of experience with Metro government. She joined Metro in 2000 when she was hired at Richland Village (Social Services) as a Program Specialist II. In 2002, she joined the Caring for Children staff, first as coordinator of the “Youth at Work” grant. (a collaboration between Caring for Children, the YWCA, and Metro Nashville Advancement Center to assist at-risk youth with job training and placement), and then as a case manager for at-risk children and families.
Before coming to Metro, she worked for three years as a Grants Review Officer at Meharry Medical College. At Meharry she reviewed grant applications, examined budgets, wrote and reviewed subcontracts, maintained webpages and databases.

Dennise Meyers
Dennise joined the Division of Grants Coordination in July 2008. Prior to her current assignment, she spent 2 years as Contract/Operations Coordinator for the Division of Real Property Services, also in the Department of Finance. In this position, Dennise worked with the Construction Project Managers, Interior Designers/Space Planners and Real Estate Department to build new and renovate existing facilities for Metro Government. She also worked closely with the Procurement Department to initiate new vendor contracts, as well as amend existing ones.
Dennise grew up In Ohio, but also lived in Kentucky and Michigan, prior to making Nashville her home in 1983.
She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Business Administration from the University of Findlay (Findlay, Ohio).
Prior to joining Metro, Dennise worked for 28 years in the national retail sector, the first 5 in store retail management, the last 23 on the corporate side for Service Merchandise Co., Tractor Supply Co. and Shop At Home Network.
