Procurement Division - Metro Work-Order Contractors

Prime ContractorsMetro enters into contracts for specific purchases as well as work-order (Tier) contracts where the first step of a multi-step solicitation (M.C.L. 4.12.030) consists of one or more steps in which offerors submit un-priced technical bids/proposals to be evaluated.

The second phase, for projects in excess of $10,000, is competed among those firms having been selected under the multi-step solicitation process.

How to Become a Metro Work-Order Contractor

If your firm competes within a contract group identified above, go to that listing and a schedule for the next solicitation addition will be provided. An award of a Metro Work-Order contract does not guarantee award work. It simply identifies those who have been determined to have the technical skill, capacity, expertise, and commitment to SBE (small business enterprise) and MWBE (minority-owned and woman-owned business enterprise) programs to compete on specific Metro projects. Many projects are competed open-market and are not limited to the work-order contractors.
