| Currently, one of our Spotlight Projects is the new Hadley Park Community Center. Located between 28th Avenue and 31st Avenue, west of downtown, the former community center in Hadley Park was very old and outdated, badly in need of major repairs, and far from compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. In light of these and other factors, and although the building was "grandfathered" in under the ADA, the decision was made to almost entirely replace it, most of the existing structure was demolished and replaced with a modern facility. View Our Other Projects in the Spotlight Officially opened in early spring of 2006, the new Community Center in Hadley Park is a modern accessible facility. It boasts a gymnasium, workout room, senior citizens' area, accessible parking and ramps, Brailled signage, and an elevated exercise track which is wheel-chair accessible via elevator. From an accessibility standpoint, however, the star of the show at the new Hadley Park Community Center is the indoor pool, which includes a chair-style lift for people who cannot enter/exit the pool without assistance, and the only "zero entry" pool on Metro property to date, meaning a pool that is entered by going down a gentle slope instead of having to use steps.
