Coverage Amounts

You can buy supplemental life coverage of up to three times your Metro salary, to a maximum of $200,000, in increments of $10,000, rounded down to the nearest $10,000.

When considering how much supplemental life insurance to buy, remember that you automatically receive $50,000 of basic life coverage in your core benefits. The examples below show how supplemental life and basic life work together to give you the amount of life insurance you need to protect your family.
