Sick Leave Accrual
You accrue one sick day per month beginning with your first full month of employment. The maximum you may accrue is based on your date of hire:
- If you were hired before July 1, 1989, you may accrue a maximum of 200 sick days.
- If you were hired after July 1, 1989, you may accrue a maximum of 120 sick days.
GOOD NEWS!
Any sick days earned in excess of the 200 or 120 days will be placed in a separate sick leave "bank" to be applied as credited service toward your Metro pension.
Once pension credits are placed in this bank, they cannot be transferred back for regular sick leave use.
