What is the new BlueAdvantage Plus?

BlueAdvantage Plus is a Medicare Advantage private fee-for-service plan and is part of the Medicare program. It is not a Medicare Supplement plan. BlueAdvantage Plus is available only to pensioners and their covered dependents who have Medicare Part A and Medicare Part B coverage.
As a BlueAdvantage Plus member you are free to seek care from any health care provider that accepts Medicare payments and the terms and conditions of the BlueAdvantage Plus plan. You must show your card every time you visit the doctor.
A Medicare Advantage Private Fee-for-Service plan works different from a Medicare Supplement plan.
- Your doctor or hospital must agree to accept the plan's terms and conditions before providing health care services to you, with the exception of emergencies.
- If your doctor or hospital does not agree to accept the plan payment terms and conditions, they may not provide health care services to you, except in emergencies.
