Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools Performance Audit Results
The Metropolitan Board of Education asked Mayor Purcell for an audit of Nashville's public school system. Mayor Purcell responded by asking Metro's Internal Audit office to conduct an independent performance audit of the schools. Internal Audit hired MGT of America to conduct the audit, which included the following areas:
- Educational Service Delivery
- Parental / Community Involvement
- Special Education, Honors, Athletic and Other Programs
- Computers and Other Instructional Resources
- Facilities Use and Management
- Transportation, Food Services and Other Services
- Student Safety and School Security
- Other Areas of Interest and Concern
