Metro Action Head Start Needs More Bus Drivers

October 1, 2003 - The Metropolitan Action Commission is in need of bus drivers for the agency’s Head Start program, the largest provider of pre-school education in Davidson County.
Approximately 611 pre-schoolers are transported daily to 8 Head Start Centers, which represents roughly 40% of the total enrollment (1,485 students). Head Start buses cover 25 routes.
Head Start provides bus service to families that live more than a one-mile radius from the center and do not have any other means of transporting their children to and from the center.
Interested drivers must have a valid Tennessee Commercial Driver’s
License (CDL) with a P (Passenger) and S (School Bus) Endorsement.
Applicants must also have a high school diploma or GED. For a
