Head Start Center To Play “Singing Santas” at Local Nursing Home

December 17, 2003 - Two classes from the Metropolitan Action Commission’s Dudley Head Start Center will visit with the residents of Cumberland Manor Nursing Center, located at 4343 Hydes Ferry (726-0492) on Thursday, December 18 at 10:00 a.m.

The center’s 4-year-old class will sing Christmas Carols, give “handmade” cards and apples to each resident. Approximately 40 children are included in the trip.

The Head Start program, is the largest provider of early childhood education in Davidson County. The program focuses on providing pre-schoolers from low-income families an enhanced academic foundation as they enter kindergarten. Almost 1,500 children are enrolled in the 8 centers and 6 partner sites throughout Nashville.
