Healthy Nashville
Healthy Nashville is an initiative of the Mayor’s Office to continually improve the health and quality of life of all Nashvillians by mobilizing community efforts to reduce the impact of three strategic issues: obesity, tobacco use and disparities in heart disease, diabetes and cancer.
Healthy Nashville is guided by the Healthy Nashville Leadership Council and supported by the Metro Public Health Department.
The Healthy Nashville Council in conjunction with the Metro Health Department just completed a Health Report Card on the status of Health in Nashville.

Mayor Monthly Walks
Mayor Karl Dean kicked off the 11th annual Walk Nashville Week in October of 2009 with the launch of a Mayor’s Monthly Walk. October’s walk was the first of a series of regular walks the Mayor will lead in different neighborhoods in Nashville every month to promote walking as both a healthy and sustainable activity. Metro continues to invest in creating more healthy and livable communities by improving our parks, greenways, bikeways and sidewalks facilities.
See the Walk Nashville guide created by the Community Health and Wellness Team that details walking safety tips and includes walking route maps throughout Nashville.
