An ordinance to accept grant funds in the amount of $150, 000 from the United States Department of Treasury to the Metropolitan Police Department of Nashville and Davidson County under the G.R.E.A.T. cooperative agreement.
Whereas, the United States
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) desires to cooperate with local
law enforcement agencies in the operation of a gang prevention program known

Whereas, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan Police Department, desires to cooperate with the ATF in the operation of such a gang prevention program in accordance with the established guidelines of the G.R.E.A.T. program, during the period January 16, 2001 through January 31, 2002; and
Whereas the ATF has committed grant funds in the amount of $150,000 to fund the Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County Police Department's participation in the G.R.E.A.T. program; and
Whereas, the G.R.E.A.T. grant requires no expenditure of Metropolitan Government matching funds.
