ORDINANCE NO. BL2002-1184
An Ordinance amending Section 13.24.390 of the Metropolitan Code by allowing advertising in certain areas of public parks as may be permitted by the Board of Parks and Recreation.
WHEREAS, Section 13.24.390 of the Metropolitan Code presently prohibits advertising within any park of the Metropolitan Government; and
WHEREAS, permitting advertising in a limited area of parks, such as those where admission or user fees are imposed, could generate additional revenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. Section 13.24.390 of the Metropolitan Code shall be and the same is hereby amended by adding the following new paragraph.
“The foregoing provisions to the contrary notwithstanding, the board of parks and recreation may permit advertising within certain parks or park facilities where an admission or user fee is charged, provided however, in no event will advertisement be permitted within the Parthenon. Such advertisement shall be in such form and in compliance with rules and regulations that shall be adopted by the board of parks and recreation governing advertising within parks.”
Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
