ORDINANCE NO. BL2007-1549

An Ordinance amending Chapter 2.04 of the Metropolitan Code to establish a procedure for the delivery of legislation adopted by the Metropolitan Council to the Mayor for his consideration.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That Chapter 2.04 of the Metropolitan Code is hereby amended by adding the following new Section 2.04.050:

2.04.050 Delivery of legislation to the mayor.

All ordinances or resolutions adopted by the council shall be delivered by the metropolitan clerk to the mayor’s office not later than the next business day following the adoption of the ordinances or resolutions for consideration by the mayor in accordance with section 5.04 of the Charter, regardless of whether the mayor is out of the city or is otherwise unable to review the legislation at the time it is delivered.

Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after is enactment, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
