RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-312 -- A resolution authorizing the Metropolitan Department of Law to compromise and settle: (1) Nashville Speedway USA’s claims against the Metropolitan Government; and (2) the Metropolitan Government’s claims against Nashville Speedway USA and Dover Motorsports. Nashville Speedway agrees to become a $25,000 sponsor of the 2008 Tennessee State Fair, and to the extent the 2009 event is held at its current location, a $25,000 sponsor of the 2009 Tennessee State Fair. All funds received pursuant to this agreement shall be paid to the Metropolitan Board of Fair Commissioners.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-311 -- A resolution authorizing the Metropolitan Department of Law to compromise and settle the Metropolitan Government’s claim against Simon Nguyen.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-310 -- A resolution authorizing the Metropolitan Department of Law to compromise and settle The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County’s claims against Charles Gary Mallory for not less than $60,800, payable over the course of three years, and directing that this amount be paid into the Benefit Board Pension Plan Fund.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-309 -- A resolution authorizing the Metropolitan Department of Law to compromise and settle the subrogation claim of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County against Elizabeth R. Gilmore and Thomas M. Gilmore in the amount of $19,371.00.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-308 -- A resolution authorizing the Metropolitan Department of Law to compromise and settle The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County’s claims against Randall L. Fowler for $26,500.00, and directing that this amount be paid into the Benefit Board Pension Plan Fund.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-307 -- A resolution authorizing the Metropolitan Department of Law to compromise and settle the personal injury claim of Kathleen Baker against the Metropolitan Government and Metropolitan Hospital Authority for the amount of $250,000.00, and to settle the loss of consortium claim of her husband, Rick Baker, against the Metropolitan Government and Metropolitan Hospital Authority for the amount of $235,000.00, for a total of $485,000.00 and directing that this amount be paid from the Self-Insured Liability Fund.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-306 -- A resolution appropriating the amount of $1,250,000.00 from the General Fund Reserve Fund for the purchase of equipment and building repairs for the Nashville Public Library of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-305 -- A resolution appropriating the amount of $1,000,000.00 from the General Fund Reserve Fund for the purchase of equipment and building repairs for the Nashville Police Department of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-298 -- A resolution approving cooperative agreement No. 08E4TN2250019 with the United States Department of the Interior - United States Geological Survey for continuation of a program to operate and maintain an ADVM gauge on the Cumberland River and water quality monitors and streamflow gauges in several streams in Davidson County.

RESOLUTION NO. RESOLUTION NO. RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-271 -- A resolution accepting a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Labor and Workforce Development, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Career Advancement Center, for programs to prepare dislocated workers for re-entry into the labor force and training for those facing serious barriers to employment (09-09-PY8-309-YOUTH).

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-270 -- A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the State of Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for programs to prepare youth for re-entry into the labor force and training for those facing serious barriers to employment (No. 08-09-PY7-309-YOUTH).

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-269 -- A resolution accepting a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Labor and Workforce Development, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for programs to provide training in the insulation field to apprentices who will participate in instructor-led course work and receive training on job sites in the field (08-09-FY8-3AP-STATE).

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-268 -- A resolution approving a grant application to the National Endowment for the Humanities, from The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Public Library to exhibit “John Adams Unbound” a display of his enormous contributions to the founding of America.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-267 -- A resolution accepting a grant from the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation, for the purposes of providing a summer enrichment program for the neighborhood children of the Cleveland Park Community Center.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-266 -- A resolution accepting a grant from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Arts Commission, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Arts Commission, for funding assistance with registration fees for members to attend the Americans for the Arts Annual Conference.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-265 -- A resolution accepting the 2007 Plan Update for the South Nashville Community, including the Nolensville Pike Corridor Detailed Neighborhood Design Plan, adopted by the Metropolitan Planning Commission on December 13, 2007.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-244 --(Adopted 04/15/2008)  A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Environment and Conservation to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Department of Public Works, increasing the grant by an amount not to exceed $145,000.00 for the purpose of collecting and disposing of waste tires.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-238 -- (Adopted 04/15/2008)  A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the State of Tennessee Department of Health to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Health Department, for programs to provide funding for project diabetes implementation activities in Davidson County.

RESOLUTION NO. RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-236 -- (Adopted 04/15/2008)  A resolution accepting a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to the Metropolitan Department of Health to enhance access to a comprehensive continuum of high quality, community-based care for low income individuals and families with HIV disease.

RESOLUTION NO.
