RESOLUTION NO. R99- 1619
A resolution appropriating $250,000 in Community Development Block Grant funds for streetscape improvements within the Jefferson Street Commercial Area.
WHEREAS, the application for the 25 th year of the Community Development Block Grant Program as approved by Ordinance No. 098-1428 allocated funds to be used within the Jefferson Street Commercial Area between 8 th and 28" Avenues North; and
WHEREAS, the appropriation of these funds has been recommended by the Jefferson Street Commercial District Citizens Advisory Committee to be used for the streetscape improvements; and
WHEREAS, the streetscape improvements are to provide for an enhanced environment in which to conduct and transact business within the Jefferson Street Commercial Area.
WHEREAS, plans for the streetscape improvements are on file at the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency Urban Development Office located at 172 Second Avenue North, Suite 102; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That $250,000 be appropriated for streetscape improvements to promote and encourage economic revitalization of the Jefferson Street Commercial Area between 8 th and 28 1h Avenues North.
Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee requiring it.
