RESOLUTION NO. RS2001-727
A resolution recognizing the 2001 Lawn and Garden Competition winners.
WHEREAS, the Metro Beautification & Environment Commission recently held the annual lawn and garden competition throughout the city; and
WHEREAS, Metro Beautification recognizes citizens for exemplary care of their properties in five categories ranging from condos to estates and basic design incorporating drainage, traffic patterns and composition of plant materials; and
WHEREAS, this year's competition marked the biggest increase with more entries throughout the city, a wider variety of features in landscaping design and gardening techniques; and
WHEREAS, this years first place winners are as follows: in Category I (condos/apartments) Wayne Suite; Category II (frontage from 20 feet to 50 feet) William Zackert; Category III (frontage from 51 feet to 90 feet) Tracy Barton; Category IV (frontage 91 feet to 150 feet) Kevin Jarnagin and Category V (frontage 151 feet and over) Ed Nelson; and
WHEREAS, these individuals innovative and creativeness in presenting landscaping and gardening ideas make not only a difference in their personal lives, but in the communities where their energies are exerted; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize these individuals on winning this beautification award.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing the 2001 Lawn and Garden Competition winners.
SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Staff Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Wayne Suite, William Zackert, Tracy Barton, Kevin Jarnagin, and Ed Nelson.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
