RESOLUTION NO. RS2001-728
A resolution recognizing the 2001 Girl Scout Silver Award recipients of Tennessee.
WHEREAS, Sharita Smith, Johnnetria Weakley, Annetria Fostern, Reba Harris, Ebony Hockett, Antrineka Vaughn, Lauren Simpson, Eboni Eriamiatoe and Qourtney of Nashville, Leea Allen, Lauren Deas and Lonitha Legette of Antioch, Stephanie Gaines of Madison and Maggie Stafford of Mt. Juliet were recognized for earning their Silver Award at the recent "On My Honor" ceremony; and
WHEREAS, these girls were among 100 teen Girl Scouts from Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky honored at the event; and
WHEREAS, the Silver Award is symbolic of accomplishments in Girl Scouting and community activities as you grow and work to better your life and the lives of others; and
WHEREAS, today, as when founded in 1912, the Girl Scouts have helped cultivate values, social conscience and self-esteem in girls, while also teaching them critical life skills that will enable them to succeed as adults; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize each Middle Tennessean Girl Scout on achieving and receiving this distinguished award.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing the 2001 Girl Scout Silver Award recipients of Tennessee.
SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Staff Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to each Middle Tennessee recipient.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
