RESOLUTION NO. RS2001-734
A resolution recognizing George and Dora McGill on their 50th wedding anniversary.
WHEREAS, a golden wedding anniversary is truly cause for a celebration, and on Friday, July 20, 2001, George and Dora McGill, affectionately known to their family as Granny and Pop Pop, observed this significant milestone in their life together with beloved family and friends; and
WHEREAS, they have enjoyed 50 years of marriage and a lifetime of love and devotion; and
WHEREAS, the dedication, patience, wisdom, and understanding that they demonstrate on a daily basis has provided a firm foundation for both family members and friends; and
WHEREAS, this devoted couple has shared the trials and triumphs of five decades together, their commitment, and unyielding strength is a source of inspiration; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize George and Dora McGill on the joyous occasion, and extend our very best wishes for continued health and happiness as they embark on their second 50-year journey; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing George and Dora McGill on their 50th wedding anniversary.
SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Staff Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to George and Dora McGill.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
