RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-1081
A resolution recognizing William L. Pomeroy upon receiving the prestigious Eagle Scout Award.
WHEREAS, on Monday,
March 18, 2002, William L. Pomeroy was presented with his Eagle Scout Award
at the Eagle Scout Court of Honor at Christ Episcopal Cathedral in Nashville,
WHEREAS, the Eagle is the highest and most prestigious recognition offered in Scouting, and a candidate for the rank of Eagle Scout must complete a rigorous program of training and must demonstrate his proficiency in selected Scouting techniques and attainment of the highest ideals of Scouting; and
WHEREAS, William L. Pomeroy, a valued member of Boy Scout Troop 285, is a dedicated young man who has earned the respect and admiration of his fellow Scouts through his active participation in the many programs sponsored by the Boy Scouts of America; and
WHEREAS, he has truly exhibited a commitment to the Scouting principals of honesty, fairness, and service to the community and has consistently conducted himself in a manner becoming an Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that William L. Pomeroy be recognized for his diligence, determination, and dedication in pursuing the highest honor awarded by the Boy Scouts of America and congratulate him on attaining the rank of Eagle Scout.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing William L. Pomeroy upon receiving the prestigious Eagle Scout Award.
SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a certificate to be presented to William L. Pomeroy.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
