RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-47
A resolution recognizing Reverend Paul Durham posthumous.
WHEREAS, Davidson County, Tennessee, lost one of its most beloved and respected sons upon the passing of well-known Nashville minister Reverend Paul Durham; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Durham preached the word of God at Radnor Baptist Church for almost 31 years; and
WHEREAS, having lived a life that was dedicated to unselfish service to his fellow human beings and to securing the realization of the values which he cherished, Reverend Durham has left an enduring impression on his community; and
WHEREAS, he served with great distinction and effectiveness as a member of the Metro Benefit Board, Metro Traffic and Parking Commission and the Tennessee Baptist Convention’s executive board; and
WHEREAS, in 1983, he founded Radnor Baptist Academy, a privet pre-K-8 school; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Paul Durham leaves behind his soul mate of fifty (50) years Nadine Durham, three children, 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Paul Durham’s passing leaves a hole in the lives of his family, the church, and the citizens of Nashville; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council express their condolences to the family of Reverend Paul Durham and express sincere regret of his passing.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Reverend Paul Durham posthumous.
Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to the family of Reverend Paul Durham.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
