RESOLUTION NO. RS2006-1125
A resolution recognizing Mr. Ray Fuller for 50 years of officiating, TSSAA Hall of Fame Official, Traffic Warrant Officer and true Tennessean.
WHEREAS, it is fitting to recognize and commend those individuals who, through unwavering dedication and commitment to excellence, have distinguished themselves as leaders of whom we can be proud of; and
WHEREAS, one such noteworthy individual is Ray Fuller, along with being a Traffic Warrant Officer "day job" for the past 23 years, he has devoted the last half-century to officiating varsity sports of all varieties; and
WHEREAS, Ray Fuller joined the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) in 1955 although he began officiating in 1953, and in 2003 after 50 years of officiating he was inducted into the TSSAA Hall of Fame, a most befitting recognition of his outstanding service to Tennessee high school athletes; and
WHEREAS, Ray Fuller is a man of true character and commitment, and he exemplifies the type of selfless community servant and civic leader whom fellow Tennesseans admire for his tireless efforts to mentor the State's youth, guiding them with solid principles and high standards; and
WHEREAS, throughout his illustrious careers, Mr. Fuller has been supported by his loving wife Anita, and his three children Ronald, Kevin and Jackie; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes Ray Fuller for his accomplishments as not only a Traffic Warrant Officer, but as a Dean of State High School Officials.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Mr. Ray Fuller for 50 years of officiating, TSSAA Hall of Fame Official, Traffic Warrant Officer and true Tennessean.
Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Mr. Ray Fuller.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
