RESOLUTION NO. RS2007-1913
A resolution recognizing the contributions and memory of Frederick Tupper Saussy, III of Nashville, Tennessee.
WHEREAS, on March 16, 2007, family, friends and associates where greatly saddened to learn of the passing of Frederick Tupper Saussy, III, a Belle Meade renegade and a long-time and beloved Nashville figure; and
WHEREAS, the multi-talented Frederick Tupper Saussy, III served with expertise and enthusiasm as an acclaimed musician, author, painter and self-proclaimed “Bill of Rights advocate”; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Saussy’s talents ranged from advertising spots as co-founder of the McDonald Saussy Advertising Agency to paintings, many painted on paper bags, to teaching at Montgomery Bell Academy, writing several books, and as a gifted pianist and composer forming his own band, Neon Philharmonic, turning out several albums and having his songs recorded by a diversity of artists; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Saussy was a professional who worked assiduously to improve the quality of life for his fellow citizens; and
WHEREAS, those who were privileged to share the love and friendship of Frederick Tupper Saussy, III will long miss his presence and guidance, and he will surely be remembered with great affection and admiration for many years to come; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council honors the life and work of Frederick Tupper Saussy, III and expresses regret and condolences to the family of his passing.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing the contributions and memory of Frederick Tupper Saussy, III of Nashville, Tennessee.
Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be given to the family of Frederick Tupper Saussy, III.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
