Nashville's New Convention Center
In October of 2007 newly elected Mayor Karl Dean indicated his desire to move forward with development of a new convention center and asked MDHA to determine where the effort stands and what steps should be taken next. MDHA then began compiling the data that had been written about the current convention center and all the information proposing a new or enlarged center for the city. This report analyzes that data and presents the key information contained in those reports, updates the relevant information where needed, and outlines the steps necessary to move forward in the process of making Nashville’s Convention Center more competitive with other cities in the Country.
