Community Planning
Built, and continue to build, a culture of partnership and cooperation with our citizens, communities, government agencies and development professionals.
Urban Design
Formed a design studio to provide professional design advice to citizens, development stakeholders, elected officials, and Metro agencies - and to promote and support appropriate design throughout the community.
Design and development tools
Created and led the Metro Council's adoption of several new design tools, including zoning and overlay districts, expanded subdivision regulations, specific plan districts, and adaptive residential development. Reorganized the review and development process to improve efficiency and customer service - our service desk has processed over 6,500 applications for new development approvals.
Planning Education
Made information about land use, development activity, and the planning process much more understandable and accessible.
Mapping and GIS improvements
Created an enterprise GIS system and new mapping application which serve all of Metro government - improving efficiency, public access, and interaction with other Metro departments.
