Description of Data Layers

Please see below for a brief description of all the data that is available through the On-line Mapping Application. As you can see it is quite extensive, and we hope to bring your more information in the future.

What Data is Available?

Parcel Number: This is the official parcel number for the property. The parcel number consists of the map and parcel number. For example, the parcel number 13500000100, is made up of the map 135000 and the parcel number 00100. In cases where the parcel is part of a condominium or planned unit development, the parcel number will have three additional characters as so, 135000A00100CO. The 135000A is the map number, the 00100 is the parcel number and the CO is to state it is part of a condominium or planned unit development.

Census Tract: This is the United States Census Bureau Tract number that the parcel falls within.

Census Block: This is the United States Census Bureau Block number that the parcel falls within.

Traffic Analysis Zone: This is the United States Census Bureau Traffic Analysis Zone that the parcel falls within.

Council District: This is the Metropolitan Council District that the parcel falls within. There are 35 Council Districts within Davidson County.

Voting Precinct: This is the Voting Precinct in that the parcel falls within. Each Metropolitan Council District is divided into Voting Precincts. To get the full precinct number combine the Council District Number with the Voting Precinct number.

Current Owner: This is the present owner of the property by the latest recorded document.

Multiple Owner: This field has a value if there are more than one owner on a piece of property (Dual ownership). This happens when a plat is used to split property, but there is no corresponding deed transferring ownership. A plat cannot transfer ownership, a deed is required.

Date Acquired: This is the date the property was last purchased.

Book: This either the Deed Book or Plat book the property was recorded in.

Page: This is the page in either the Deed Book or Plat Book that the property was recorded on.

Sale Price: This the sale price of the property at at last purchase.

Mailing Address: This is the mailing street address of the property owner.

Mailing City: This is the mailing city of the property owner.

Mailing Zip: This is the mailing zip code of the property owner.

Property Address: This is the actual street address for a property.

Property City: This is the actual city for a property.

Property Zip: This is the actual zip code for a property.

Assessed Date: This is the date the property was last assessed by the Assessor of Property.

Classes: These are Property Classification assigned by the Assessor of Property.

Land Appraised: This is the appraisal of the land assigned to a property by the Assessor of Property.

Improvement Appraised: This is the appraisal of any improvements, i.e. structures, pools, etc. assigned to the property by the Assessor of Property.

Total Appraised: This is the total appraisal of both land and improvements assigned to a property by the Assessor of Property.

Land Use: This is the specific Land Use assigned to a property by the Assessor of Property.

Zone: This is the current Zoning of the property. If a property has multiple zonings, only one will be listed.

Overlays: These are any zoning overlay districts which apply to a property. If a property has multiple overlays, only one will be listed.

GSD/USD: This shows whether a property falls within the Urban Services District or General Service District.

Service Area: This is the part of the old parcel identification system.

Field Book: This is part of the old parcel identification system.
