Gallatin Pike Amendments to the Gallatin Pike SP are pending

The Planning Commission and the Metro Council have both set public hearings on proposed amendments to SP zoning in the Gallatin Pike Improvement District.

Those hearings are scheduled during the regular Planning Commission meeting on April 24 and the regular Metro Council meeting on May 6.

The Council approved the Gallatin Pike SP in July 2007;that zoning addresses how land will be used, where new buildings can be placed and how large they can be, parking, street access, signage, landscaping and other important issues in the Gallatin Road corridor from Main Street to Briley Parkway in East Nashville.

Dickerson PikeSign standards under consideration for part of Dickerson Pike

A proposed Urban Design Overlay currently before the Planning Commission would provide standards for all new signs along lower Dickerson Pike in East Nashville. That UDO is intended to reduce visual clutter and encourage appropriate scale and design. Public hearings are scheduled during the April 24 regular meeting of the Planning Commission and the May 6 regular meeting of the Metro Council.

Updated East Nashville Community Plan

The Planning Commission adopted an updated East Nashville Community Plan on February 9, 2006.  Changes included the adoption of Detailed Neighborhood Design Plans (DNDPs) for the Cleveland Park , McFerrin Park , and Greenwood neighborhoods and the East Hill, Renraw, and South Inglewood (West) neighborhoods.
