Middle Tennessee Diversity Forum
The Middle Tennessee Diversity Forum is a workforce collaborative designed to build and benchmark workplace diversity initiatives. It strives to:

  1. Build diversity awareness in the community and share best practices among the members;
  2. Provide an opportunity for the members to network; and
  3. Assist companies in Middle Tennessee in enhancing, supporting and strengthening their commitment to diversity.

August 27, 2010, Baptist Hospital, Starbucks Coffee, Saint Thomas Health Services and CareerBuilder partnered with the Nashville Career Advancement Center to sponsor the Middle Tennessee Diversity Forum’s “Healthcare Diversity Forum.” Newschannel5 anchor, Vicki Yates, moderated a panel discussion which featured the expertise of Dr. Cornelia Graves (Baptist Hospital); Elizabeth Pace (Saint Thomas Health Services) Thomas Robinson (CareerBuilder); and Dr. Stephen J. D’Amico (Cornerstone Medical Group).

The event also featured keynote speaker, Dr. Charles Mouton, senior vice president for health affairs at Meharry Medical College.

To conclude the forum and panel discussion, a special session regarding healthcare insurance reform was given by Calvin Anderson (BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee) and Nancy Anness (Saint Thomas Health Services).

The healthcare-focused event was the first of its kind in a series of quarterly diversity forums which have featured such topics as women in the workplace, multicultural marketing, and innovation through diversity.
