The following list provides an overview of the topics covered in 50-minute workshops at the Workforce Campus and at the Tennessee Career Centers. Please visit our Calendars to find a schedule of the Workshops we are offering this month.

“Resume Writing and Critiquing with Career Coaches”

This workshop is designed to help individuals with questions about creating, updating and perfecting resumes. The session will display different styles and formats as well as discuss a way to target resumes for the perfect job opportunity.

“Interviewing”

This workshop discusses what to do before, during and after an interview. Participants will learn the different styles of interviews and interview etiquette.

“Get Unstuck”

There are times when many job seekers feel stuck in their job search. After weeks of sending resumes, networking and interviewing with no discernable results, they wonder, “Where do I go from here?” Unfortunately, some job seekers seem to give up completely.

“Online Applications”

Many companies no longer accept paper applications and resumes, so to be ready for online job applications; you need to know how to market yourself online.

“Dealing with Job Loss/Surviving a Layoff”

No matter what circumstances led to the loss of your last job…it is a loss. You have either dealt with or are dealing with many feelings and life changes after this loss, but there is life after job loss.

“Assess yourself/Find direction”

This workshop assesses your transferable skills, your self-management skills and your values. It also explores how to research the field you may be interested in.

“Networking”

Contacts may be immediate, but a relationship is established and built over time. The potential to build begins with the first introduction and requires the investment of time and energy for follow-up.

“Salary Negotiation/Money Talk”

You can earn the salary you want by learning to use some useful salary negotiation techniques.

“Perfecting Your Digital Resume”

Many employers require applicants to submit digital resumes via cyberspace. The material presented in this workshop provides helpful information to jobseekers in understanding the major differences between the Traditional Resume and the Digital Resume formats.

“Polishing Your Professional Image/Dress for Success”

How you look effects your professional “credibility”. In some industries, the image you present to the customer is critical. Learn how to dress professionally in order to get the job you want.
