ESU Equipment

ESU volunteers must learn to operate an assortment of machinery and equipment to assist with rescue and recovery missions, and OEM provides the training and resources. Here are some of the items commonly used in ESU operations:

 

ESU field operations vehicle

The ESU field operations vehicle is used to store and transport generators, tents and other equipment used in support operations.

 

 

ESU command boat

The ESU command boat is the lead vessel where management staff coordinates with an incident commander, operations branch and other boats during large-scale water search and rescue operations or special events.

 

ESU mobile 60kw generator

The ESU mobile 60kw generator is the team's most utilized generator, and ready to go at a moment's notice. It can supply power to many sources at once, and be integrated into a building system.

 

ESU flat-bottom fleet

Purchased ten years ago, "Rescue One" is the back-bone of ESU's water search and recovery operations. ESU can dispatch and staff as many as six of these boats for any operation, including water safety monitoring at special events.

 

ESU 6X6 all-terrain utility vehicle

Nicknamed Gator, the ESU 6x6 all-terrain utility vehicle is used for special field search operations where typical passenger or 4x4 vehicles are impractical.

 

 

4 X 4 Jeep Cherokee

The 4x4 Jeep Cherokee is a light-duty response vehicle that carries four officers and a limited range of equipment. Generally, it is the first vehicle to arrive on scene and establish control until more vehicles can arrive.

 

 

ESU Comman Boat

The "Enforcer" is a command boat for water search and recovery operations. The Triton fiberglass model has a 150 HP engine.
