Torando Season March-July

Ready
to spring into action!
The
beginning of spring means flowers are starting to bloom, more hours
of sunshine and - for those of us who keep an eye on the weather
- the start of tornado season.
Although
tornadoes can occur at any time, they develop most often in March
through early July. Tornadoes are rapidly rotating funnels of air
that extend from a thunderstorm to the ground.
Have
you ever heard the term, Tornado Alley?
Generally, it is the part of the country from Texas to Nebraska where tornadoes occur most in the spring and summer. But the fact is: a tornado can happen just about anywhere. So that means take steps now to prepare for disasters like violent storms and tornadoes.
Crieve
Hall Cub Scouts get a tour of an OEM light-response vehicle after
learning about tornado safety. Generally, this is the first vehicle
to get to the scene of an emergency and examine the damage before
other units arrive.
