NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Metro’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is joining forces with hundreds of national, state and local government agencies and private organizations this September for National Preparedness Month. This nationwide effort held every September focuses on encouraging citizens to prepare for emergencies in their homes, businesses and communities.
Metro OEM wants to know how prepared Nashvillians are to react to the effects of an emergency or disaster situation. A unique, community focused survey has been created to find out the preparedness level of local citizens. The survey results will help emergency managers determine how they can better prepare Nashville citizens and businesses to help themselves.
“Emergencies can and do happen anywhere making personal preparedness an invaluable tool to help citizens and their families respond to a disaster,” said Acting Director Stephen Halford. “The OEM survey is open to anyone who lives or works in Davidson County and the results will be released to the public during National Preparedness Month.”
