Partial Activation Of Metro's Emergency Operations Center Underway

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Metro Office of Emergency Management (OEM) has called for a partial activation of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) effective 2:15 p.m. CST in preparation of a severe weather event including a tornado touchdown. The operational period will last six hours.
Metro agencies activated are: Police, Fire, Public Works, Metro Water Services, Emergency Communications Center, OEM, General Services, Business Continuity, Building Management and Metro Planning Commission.
The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for Davidson County until 6:15 p.m. CST and a tornado watch remains in effect until 7 p.m. CST. Nashville Electric Service reports 71 outages affecting 378 customers at this time.
Metro EOC has received 1.25 inches of rain since 1 p.m. CST. Minimal damage has been reported countywide. However, numerous reports of roadway flooding have been cited in South Nashville and Hermitage.
