TDOT Ramp Closure I-24 to I-65N in Davidson County – Traffic Alert

Ramp to Remain Closed through Construction

Tennessee Department of Transportation contract crews have closed the ramp from Interstate 24 eastbound (Exit 44B) to Interstate 65 northbound, north of Nashville, for construction.

The ramp will remain closed through October 2015.

During the closure, all traffic will be detoured. Motorists traveling I-24 eastbound will be advised to take Exit 43 to SR 155 (Briley Parkway) eastbound to I-65 northbound. Drivers may also take Exit 40 to SR 45 (Old Hickory Boulevard) to I-65 northbound. A map of the detour is attached. Message boards are in place to alert motorists to the ramp closure.

The long-term closure will allow crews to work on the inside lanes of I-65 northbound near the split. Due to the location of the ramp, it is not possible to maintain a lane of travel while work is underway.

TDOT asks drivers to use caution, reduce speed and be alert to changing traffic conditions in work zones across the state. For more information on TDOT construction project activity, visit the TDOT SmartWay web site at www.TNSmartWay.com/Traffic. Travelers can also dial 511 from any land-line or cellular phone for travel information, or follow us on Twitter at www.twitter.com/TN511 for statewide travel information or www.twitter.com/Nashville511 for traffic information in the Nashville area. Android and iPhone users can access travel information through the TDOT SmartWay web application at www.TNSmartWay.com/Traffic. The system provides up-to-the-minute, customized traffic information through access to TDOT SmartWay cameras with streaming video, messages displayed on overhead Dynamic Message Signs, and information on construction-related lane closures and incidents on interstates and state routes. The SmartWay web application is free and can be saved to Android and iPhone devices.
