2007 Roadscape Grants Available for Landscaping, Beautification Projects

Monday, July 9, 2007 is the deadline to submit preliminary applications to Metro Public Works for the Tennessee Department of Transportation’s 2007 Roadscapes Grant Program. 

Neighborhoods and other community organizations interested in applying for Roadscape funds need to visit TDOT’s roadscapes website: www.tdot.tn.us/roadscapes/ to get an application and other details about program requirements.

roadscapesThe Roadscape Grant Program allows local communities to partner with TDOT to create environmentally friendly landscaping projects along interstates and state highways.  In order to meet TDOT’s application deadline of September 4, 2007, Public Works has established the following preliminary deadlines for all Metro groups who want to participate:

  1. July 9, 2007 -- Submittals, in compliance with TDOT Roadscape Grant Applications, are due to Public Works, along with a letter of support from the Metro District Council Member, a letter of commitment for matching funds, letters of community support, and a letter of commitment for a 10-year maintenance agreement.
  2. July 9-13, 2007 – Applications reviewed by Public Works.
  3. July 13-18, 2007 – Revisions by applicant.
  4. July 19, 2007 – 100% completed submittal to Public Works.  Incomplete grant applications will not be submitted.
