21st Avenue Area Pedestrian Enhancement Project Phases

Phasing during the project is subject to change.

Below you will find descriptions of each phase of the 21st Avenue Area Pedestrian Enhancement Project.

Phase One
The project team will install traffic and pedestrian signals and construct new curb ramps, crosswalks and sidewalk within the vicinity of the intersection of 21st Avenue and Magnolia Boulevard.   

Current status --All signal equipment is installed.  Sidewalk replacements and crosswalks in progress. 

Phase Two
Phase two includes the installation of new traffic and pedestrian signals at the intersection of 21st and Blakemore avenues. 

Current status -- Signal equipment install in progress.  Concrete curb, gutter and ramp pours complete. 

Phase Three
During phase three the project team will be installing new traffic and pedestrian signals at the intersection of 21st and Pierce avenues. 

Current Status -- Sidewalk and ramp concrete pours complete.  Signal work in progress.

Phase Four
The final phase includes the installation of new pedestrian signals at the intersections of 21st and Acklen avenues and 21st Avenue and Blair Boulevard.  Curb ramp will also be replaced at the intersection of 21st and Acklen avenues during this phase. 

Current Status -- No activity scheduled at this time.

The project is scheduled for completion in summer 2007.
