Recycling in Multi-Family Buildings in the USD/GSD and Residences in the GSD
Residents in the General Service District and multi-family complexes throughout the county contract with private haulers for waste collection. Recycling services are available and Public Works maintains a list of companies that collect recyclables from single-family homes using carts or bins and at multi-family residences using dumpsters or compactors.
Upcoming Material Ban Timeline
The following items will be banned from waste containers
- July 1, 2011 - Yard Waste
- July 1, 2013 - Cardboard
- July 1, 2015 - Electronic Waste
Yard waste (brush, leaves and grass clippings) must be placed at the curb for Brush Collection. Leaves and grass clippings must be placed in paper biodegradable bags. Residents will be able to recycle their cardboard and other recyclables by visiting one of the recycling drop-off sites or contracting with a private recycler. Electronic waste must be recycled through at the Household Hazardous Waste facility.
All Waste Haulers to Offer Recycling
Beginning July 1, 2013, your waste hauler will be required to offer recycling as an option. Additional fees for recycling service may apply. Businesses, apartments and condos with trash dumpsters will have the option, with their waste hauler or other recycler, to have a recycling dumpster placed at their location.
