Renee Pratt, Executive Director

Renee PrattThe Metro Social Services Board of Commissioners named Renee Pratt as the department’s interim executive director in January 2009. Prior to her appointment, Ms. Pratt served as the department’s director of administrations and also led the Division of Planning and Coordination.
Ms. Pratt started working at Metro Social Services as a social worker in 1992. Gradually she moved to different positions within the department including JTPA supervisor, program manager, professional specialist, human resource manager, director of administration, and now, interim executive director.
A native Nashvillian, Ms. Pratt received her Bachelor’s of Science degree from Trevecca University and a Masters of Public Administration degree from Cumberland University.
Her main goals as interim executive director of Metro Social Services are twofold:

  1. To renew and formulate new partnerships that will leverage services for customers and the community; and
  2. To focus on planning and coordination, specifically as it relates to the implementation of the Poverty Initiative Plan.

Under her leadership, Metro Social Services has conducted and published the 2009 Needs Evaluation Report, a comprehensive data resource for the planning and coordination of social services to meet the needs of Davidson County residents who live in poverty.
Ms. Pratt has re-directed the focus of the department, which now includes a strong planning and coordination function next to the direct services MSS provides through its homemaker and nutrition programs, homelessness prevention, as well as evaluation and referral services of its customers.
