Water Quality (NPDES) Contact Information
The Stormwater Water Quality (NPDES) section is responsible for:
- Fielding complaints regarding the dumping of pollutants into a storm drain (or any other part of Metro’s stormwater drainage infrastructure).
- Fielding complaints of pollutant dumping into a stream or river.
- Issuing and overseeing MWS Grading Permits (including holding pre-construction meetings for grading permits).
- Fielding complaints regarding water pollution issues on a construction or development site.
- Accepting U&O Inspection Request/Submittals and conducting subsequent inspections for U&O release.
- Accepting Bonding-related Requests/Submittals and conducting subsequent inspections for Bond release.
To report a Stormwater/Water Quality concern (such as dumping into a storm drain, wastewater discharge into a storm drain, or complaint of illegal dumping into the storm sewer system, creek or stream) please call (615) 313-PURE or (615) 880-2420 or contact us by email, during our regular office hours - Monday-Friday 7AM-3:30PM.
- After regular office hours, call (615) 862-4600 (option 3) and note to the Emergency Dispatch Center that the issue relates to "Stormwater/Water Quality".
