About the Mayor's Office of Environment and Sustainability
The Mayor’s Office of Environment and Sustainability was created in April, 2010 as part of Mayor Dean’s commitment to making Nashville the greenest city in the Southeast.
Guided by recommendations made by the Mayor’s Green Ribbon Committee, the Office is actively working with Metro Departments and community partners on a variety of projects, programs, and initiatives to improve Nashville’s natural environment and promote the environmental sustainability of Davidson County.
The Office partners closely with the two other mayoral initiatives: Cities of Service and the Healthy Nashville, on projects such as tree planting for stormwater control in neighborhoods and promoting active and healthy living in Nashville.
