Coordinating Pre-K Enrollment Public Investment Plan (2018)

Laura Moore, Senior Education Advisor for Mayor Barry

Project Purpose

Nashville currently suffers from a fragmented and uncoordinated Pre-K system that makes it difficult for families and students to access existing programs, resulting in families being less likely to participate fully in the workforce, in addition to a loss of more $2 million each year to Nashville in student and societal benefits. The purpose of our project is to create a citywide coordinated Pre-K enrollment system that will ensure transparency and ease of access to Pre-K opportunities for Nashville’s families and facilitate collaboration between service providers that will enable them to leverage and streamline the delivery of existing resources to better support families.
