Building Operations Support Services

Building Operations Support Services (BOSS) is a function of the Department of General Services and is responsible for management of facilities comprising approximately 3.2 million square feet of building space and over 290 acres at more than 70 locations in Metro Nashville. Some of the major buildings include the Metro Courthouse, Criminal Justice Center, Ben West Building, Emergency Communication Center, Police Precincts and other police service buildings, Lindsley Hall, the 222 Building, and other General Services facilities.

BOSS maintains an online system for submitting and tracking maintenance issues in General Services facilities. If an employee wishes to report a problem in a facility managed by General Services, he/she should submit a work request online.

Building Operations uses land-line and cell phones, alpha pages, email, and two-way radios for effective communication to ensure requests are handled as quickly and efficiently as possible.

If an employee feels the situation being reported is an emergency and it is occurring during business hours, he/she should call (615) 880-3499, (615) 880-1786, or (615) 862-8960. Report after-hours emergencies (i.e., when there is a threat to public health, welfare, or safety) by calling (615) 862-6599.
