The NashvilleNext process has been based on community vision and input, with nearly twenty thousand community members sharing their thoughts and suggestions online and in person at over four hundred meetings, briefings, events, and public conversations.

The supporting materials below provide background information on many of the issues affecting NashvilleNext and our community's long-term future.

Background Reports

Our background reports page includes detailed reports on local issues related to growth and progress, written by volunteer teams of local experts.

Community Engagement

NashvilleNext planners and community volunteers have spent countless hours connecting and interacting with a wide variety of communities and constituencies.

We have participated in over four hundred meetings and events, and received considerable media coverage in all phases of the planning process; our most recent summary of public input outlines a remarkable variety of community conversations.

A targeted and specific youth engagement plan brought young Nashvillians into the process during the early stages of community outreach, creating an actively involved group of young people who contributed their own perspectives to the process.

Speaker Series

Nationally recognized experts on planning and urban progress shared their thoughts and stimulated community discussion during the NashvilleNext Speaker Series.

The NashvilleNext YouTube channel includes over eighty short and full-length videos - comments from speakers and the public, community input, and explanations of the NashvilleNext process.

Local advice and guidance

Seven "resource teams," volunteer panels of local experts, advised NashvilleNext planners on specific topics.
