Remote Participation in Metro Government Board and Commission Meetings

In these trying times of the coronavirus, the Metropolitan Government continues to work for you, our residents. Many of Metro’s boards and commissions continue to deliberate essential issues and make decisions that affect you, your home and your neighborhood. As a member of our community, you have the right to have a voice in these meetings. The Metropolitan Government is committed to allowing you to comment on agenda items from the comfort of your home. This will help to balance public health and social distancing guidelines with the importance of your input as a resident.

Virtual participation is a way to attend and participate in a public meeting. You can virtually attend the meeting and listen to the discussion about items on the agenda. To find out whether a board or commission meeting is being held virtually, visit boards.nashville.gov and click on the name of the board or commission you’d like to see.

Provide Comments Virtually

Some public meetings have agenda items that are open for public comment. You can find this info for the meeting you are interested by reviewing the meeting agenda at boards.nashville.gov. If there are agenda items that are open for public comment, there are four possible ways for you to give feedback on agenda items from your home:

  • Call and leave a recorded voicemail
  • Send an email
  • Join the meeting electronically from a digital device that’s connected to the Internet
  • Call in live from your phone

Remember that the availability of public comment and the methods available will depend on the specific meeting, so refer to the meeting’s agenda.
