In-Lane Tag Renewal
The Metro Public Health Department and Systech International in cooperation with the Davidson County Clerk's Office (DCCO) are pleased to provide the motoring public of Davidson County the convenience of in-lane tag renewal at the same time as a passing emissions test. This "one stop shop" is a voluntary program that allows the complete tag renewal process to occur at a single location - the station where your vehicle was just tested and passed.
In-lane tag renewal may be temporarily suspended during times of high volume at the test station. This usually occurs at the beginning and end of each month.
Please note that this service is for tag RENEWAL ONLY. Vehicles not previously registered in Davidson County or those that need a new metal plate or a new specialty plate must visit one of the Davidson County Clerk locations.
All of the following are required in order to take advantage of in-lane tag renewal.
- You must be a resident of Davidson County.
Your current mailing address must be the one on file with the Davidson County Clerk's Office. Your renewed tags will be mailed to that address. IF THE ADDRESS ON FILE WITH THE CLERK'S OFFICE IS WRONG, YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE YOUR RENEWED TAGS.
- Your vehicle must receive a passing emissions test.
- You must have a valid credit/debit card in order for your inspector to complete the transaction with the Clerk's Office.
HAVING A SYSTECH INSPECTOR PERFORM THE VOLUNTARY IN-LANE TAG RENEWAL FOR YOU WILL COST YOU MORE THAN IF YOU RENEW THE TAGS YOURSELF.
If you chose to take advantage of this service, following is an itemized list of the fees you will pay.
Fee Schedule Per Type of Tag
|Vehicle Inspection Fee
|Systech Convenience Fee
|DCCO County and State License Fee
|DCCO Postage, Handling & On-line Convenience Fee
|Total Fee Due
At the conclusion of your vehicle's passing emissions test and in-lane tag renewal, you will be given a Vehicle Inspection Report that summarizes the results of the test and acts as a receipt for your tag renewal.
According to the Davidson County Clerk's office, you should receive your new stickers and registration by mail within five (5) business days. Please do not go to the Davidson County Clerk's Office to pick-up your new stickers and registration. They will be mailed to you.
