Short-term and Long-term disability insurance is an optional benefit that replaces a portion of your Metro pay if you become disabled by injury, illness, or medical condition, including pregnancy and mental illness. If you do not enroll in these benefits when first becoming eligible, you may be subject to a late enrollment penalty and/or evidence of insurability.
