Pension Services

Pension benefits for employees of Metro Nashville and Davidson County are available as defined by Title 3 of the Metro Charter. There are several different pension options available, including survivor benefits and Deferred Retirement Option Plan (DROP) benefits for those employees who qualify.

If you are looking for information about Metro's Disability programs, please visit our Disability Pensions page.

Service pension calculations are automatically provided annually to each of our employees, and we also offer a Self-Service option which allows employees to generate their own pension estimates as well as submit requests to retire. Our Benefits Representatives are also available to provide estimates, additional information, and to answer any questions and clarify any concerns retirees and prospective retirees may have.

Retiree Insurance Benefits

During the retirement process, you may be given the option to elect or continue your medical, dental, and vision insurance.
