About the Director of Information Technology Services
Keith Durbin, CMA, MSPSM
Keith Durbin has been the Chief information Officer and Director of the Information Technology Services Department of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee since January, 2009. Previously he held the elected office of 18th District Councilman on the Metropolitan Council from 2007-2009.
Departmental achievements while in this role have included the construction of a new primary data center; the implementation of a comprehensive information security program including the hiring of Metro’s first Chief Information Security Officer; the establishment of an Open Data executive order; and the implementation of multiple Metro-wide business applications including hubNashville. He led Metro’s smart city strategic planning and the publication of Connected Nashville: A Vision for a Smarter City.
Durbin is a 1989 graduate of Emory University’s Goizueta Business School with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a 2015 graduate of the master’s program in public service management at Cumberland University.
