Strategic Planning Process
In the summer of 2018, ITS began the work of developing the Information Technology Services (ITS) Strategic Plan for Fiscal Year 2020. With renewed focus on the ITS Vision, Mission, Values and Priorities developed in 2015, and guided by the work of the Connected Nashville smart city working group, we established enhanced strategies to move ITS and Metro into fiscal year 2020 and beyond, and continue to meet the needs of the Metro agencies performing work that is so critical to Nashville’s progress.
ITS Service Line Roadmaps
ITS service line roadmaps encompass 34 lines of service delivery, driving both strategic and tactical direction for the ITS department for fiscal years 2020 through 2022. These roadmaps have been carefully constructed to incorporate the needs and feedback of all stakeholders.
As in 2017, ITS Senor Leadership were asked to present strategic visions for their divisions, with information gathered from their direct customers, employees, vendors and other partners as well as their own research in their specialized functional areas.
In November of 2018, the service line roadmaps were presented during an open comment period for input to the Metro Government IT Community, which consists of several hundred individuals across the departments and agencies of the government who have responsibility for technology within their own departments.
Having incorporated feedback from the open comment period, ITS Executives finalized the roadmaps in December 2018. These are the goals to which we will refer in ITS' performance management processes.
