Barnes Housing Fund Applications

Fall 2019 Funding Round

Applications for the Barnes Housing Trust Fund Fall 2019 Funding Round are now live. A total of $9,500,000 will be available. Eligible projects must create or preserve affordable housing opportunities in Nashville-Davidson County, Tennessee. Projects must be affordable to households with incomes at or below 60% area median income for rental projects and at or below 80% of the area median income adjusted for family size for homebuyer projects. $1,000,000 in funding will be prioritized for organization with budgets below $2,000,000. Awards in this category are capped at $250,000. Any funding not utilized in that small organization prioritization will be reallocated to larger projects.

How to Apply

Below are the links to application forms and templates needed to complete a Barnes Fund applications. Your application will be completed electronically through WizeHive.

In the SIGNUP box, enter your email address (username) and create a password for your account. Make sure you use an email address that you check frequently. Click SIGNUP to open the application. Answer all questions on the application. The asterisks indicate that you are required to answer the question. You will be unable to complete your application if any required fields are left blank. If a question does not apply, please type NA.

Additionally, you will need to upload a project budget/proforma, a universal design checklist, a sustainability matrix and a diversity matrix. Complete the templates below and upload to WizeHive in order to complete your application.

Application Deadline

The application and ALL supporting materials must be submitted by October 28, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. Organizations can submit proposals for two different projects, though the maximum total award per organization is capped at $2 million. The review committee will have discretion to exceed this cap for exceptional proposals.
